Food insecurity remains a pressing issue, where a single financial setback can drive individuals to rely on whatever food is available, often without them realizing its impact. To tackle this, we aim to unite the community and empower collective action, creating a movement that raises awareness about the unique challenges of food insecurity in Brooklyn.

Introducing The Concrete Jungle; a community garden located in two of the most food insecure areas in Brooklyn: Brownsville and Bedford-Stuyvestant.

There is no one-stop solution to the issue of food insecurity. However, educating the public on the issue and providing the community with convenient access to produce to help them live a healthy and active lifestyle is a step in the right direction for change. Community gardens not only increase access to fresh foods and improve food security, they  improve dietary habits and reduce the risks of obesity-related diseases.

The Concrete Jungle represents a movement to raise awareness on the issue of food insecurity in Brooklyn.

It serve as a symbol of independence and community, showing that addressing this issue requires the collective efforts of everyone in the neighborhood.
