The Concrete Jungle
Introducing The Concrete Jungle; a community garden located in two of the most food insecure areas in Brooklyn: Brownsville and Bedford-Stuyvestant.
There is no one-stop solution to the issue of food insecurity. However, educating the public on the issue and providing the community with convenient access to produce to help them live a healthy and active lifestyle is a step in the right direction for change. Community gardens not only increase access to fresh foods and improve food security, they improve dietary habits and reduce the risks of obesity-related diseases.
